Javeria Chughtai is a 25-year-old journalist and a badminton player. Growing up in a joint family is not really that easy, for which she pens down a thank you note coming straight from the heart to her superammi for doing such an amazing job:

As every mother is important for her children and is a superwoman to her family, likewise, my mother is also a superwoman to me. For starters, no mother is bound to any specific reason to be a superwoman because all that they do, whether seen or unseen makes them a superhero! My mother is no different or, I can say she is different, in some way. Since my childhood, I have seen her evolve from a very strict, soldier-like mother to my best friend. Living in a huge joint family with an overflow of the guests whether it was a weekend or a working day and being the only ‘Bahu’ of the family, it was indeed difficult for her to keep her children on track. I know now.

From being very clear about our hobbies and daily routines she had always faced backlash for not being a good mother and being just too hard on us. Now that the time has passed I realise how difficult was it for her to manage to raise us all these years with so many other things to do. She has taught us a lot.
After all these years and after all these efforts I want to say thank you!

Thank you for all the tireless efforts you’ve done to make us successful.
Thank you for being a reasonably strict mother who set our futures right.
Thank you for doing everything in your power to provide us with the best.

I can never pay you back for the uncountable times you’ve cared for me when, I fell sick, be it in my childhood or adult life. You’ve always been my best support. There is nothing I can do to pay you back for the countless times you’ve waited hours and hours while I was busy training or playing tournaments. For all those times you’ve called me at work asking me what I was doing and checking to see if I’ve eaten and if I am doing fine.

Life has been easier with you and I know it will be easier as long as you’re with me! I haven’t yet prepared myself on staying away from you after I am married. Not a lot of time is left, but I hope I make the best out of it!

At the end, I’ll just quote my favourite lyrics for you,

“If I didn’t have you
I’d never see the sun
You taught me how to be someone
All my life, you stood by me
When no one else was ever behind me
All these lights they can’t blind me
With your love, nobody can drag me down.” – Drag Me Down, One Direction.
