The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us many things – the hard way obviously. But one of the main things that we have seen is that unlike some of the diseases, coronavirus does not know any religion, race, socioeconomic status or nationality. If it is taking over and infecting people, it will infect anyone whether it be someone from the slums or a member of a royal family.
Similarly, a lot of famous people have come forward about how they have been fallen prey to the virus and some have also lost their lives to it. Following is the list of well-known people around the world who took it to the internet to let their fans know how they have been coping:
Prince Charles was reported to have been experiencing some mild symptoms that qualify for the infection. The Clarence House then confirmed on 25th Match about how the prince did indeed contract the virus. His wife – The Duchess of Cornwall – was also tested for possible infection but the results came out negative. Prince Charles came out of his isolation five days later.
The Queen, however, was reported to be in good health all the while.
A lot of British officials have been found to have caught the virus, one of them is the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He was said to have been experiencing mild symptoms and was still carrying out his duties all through online means of communication. Later on Monday, due to his persistent symptoms, he was taken to the ICU.
The Health Secretary of England was also reported to have been tested positive for the virus after just a few hours of the Prime Minister’s announcement.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Tom Hanks and his wife were probably the first celebrities to announce their positive test results. The couple were visiting Australia where Tom Hanks was filming Elvis Presley’s biopic. Both of them started to experience similar symptoms and later were confirmed to be indeed infected. They appear to have successfully recovered from it but are still staying cautious.
Both Idris Elba and his wife took it to Twitter to announce how they have been confirmed to have caught the virus. The actor was attending the same We Day event that the wife of the Canadian Prime Minister attended and was diagnosed later too. Both husband and wife have self-isolated themselves since the diagnosis. He said he was feeling ok but after knowing he had come in contact with an infected individual, he himself wanted to be cautious too.
The actor from the famous TV show ‘Game of Thrones’ posted on his Instagram about his test results coming positive. He told his fans that his symptoms were mild but he and his family will be self-isolating. Kristofer Hivju is known for playing Tormund Giantsbane on the aforementioned show. This is what he posted:
“My (family) and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold.”

Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold. There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country's Center for Disease Control's website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions. @grymolvaerhivju #fightcorona #solidarity #takecare #folkehelseinstituttet Thanks to @panoramaagency
The famous Hollywood film producer who was recently convicted for his crimes related to sexual assault and rape was reported to have caught the virus in prison. This news was confirmed by prison authorities he is currently sentenced in.
In March, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison for being convicted of sexually assaulting former production assistant Mimi Haleyi and raping Jessica Mann, a one-time aspiring actress. He was also the one that triggered the initiation of #MeToo movement.
Debi Mazar is known for her acting in ‘Entourage’. She confirmed in a post on Instagram how she contracted the virus but was fine. She also wrote how all of the people in her house had the same symptoms as her. But the doctors had told her that she did not meet the criteria as she had not been in contact with anyone confirmed to be infected nor did she travel.

I have just tested positive for Covid-19.I AM OK! About a month ago my entire home(husband and two teen daughters) got an odd bug- Low grade fever, headaches, sore throat, body aches, ears ringing and a dry cough. It cleared up quickly.Seasonal I thought?but it felt unusual/different… Two weeks later,March 15th,I woke up with all those same symptoms but super intense body aches, and 102.4 fever.I figured maybe I got the flu or..Corona?😬 I had had cocktails the evening prior, and smoked a few cigarettes. I figured I had jacked my immune system from having a fun night with friends.I called a doctor/friend to ask if I could get the Covid-19 test on 3/16.He said NO,I didn’t meet the criteria.I hadn’t recently traveled out of the country&I hadnt been with someone who had actually tested positive.I found this kind of a CRAZY criteria for a NY’er as I had taken the subway, gone to the theater, the grocery store, the pharmacy, hair salon, etc.I was the Mom who was trying to prepare the home and get supplies&bleach wipes, dry goods.extra food etc. Because we have Italian family in Italy and we follow the news closely,my biggest panic was why were they not closing schools in NYC &forbidding movement outside the home without permission, like China and all of Europe? Prospect Park yesterday,i hear was jumpin’! A friend told me that CityMD/Urgent Care in my neighborhood had test kits, which appealed to me as I wanted to stay away from the hospital. I went on 3/17.First I was tested for the flu-which was negative. Then they tested me for Covid-19. I was sent home and told to quarantine myself until I had results, which would take 3-7 days(in S.Korea it takes two hours) Well..today is day 5 and I just found out.Im hoping I’ve been through the worst of it already. Its very “morphy”.One day I feel crappy and the next I’m normal.Today my lungs are heavy, but I’m tough. I can breath, and I’m going to heal here,in my own home!My family is under quarantine for 14 days. They have no symptoms.I think we all had it possibly already?Who knows. Anyhow, stay home people!Protect yourselves&your loved ones.Build up your immune systems.Good Luck&God Bless us all! #alonetogether #physicaldistancing #stayhome

Two weeks ago my three-year old son, Jameson, and I are were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive. My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative. It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities. In an effort to support the healthcare professionals who are battling on the frontlines every day, I am donating $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of my mother, Judy Moore, who worked there for 18 years in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center. Additionally, I am donating $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund. THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.❤️
