The Ammi Fair

It’s Ammis’ time to shine- ScaryAmmi has organized The Ammi Fair 2023!

The Ammi Fair was organized at the Ladies Club, Lawrence Road, Lahore on 25th February, 2023 to celebrate Ammipreneurs and give women all around a chance to bring their best foot forward and display their entrepreneur skills.
The partners of this event included the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lahore (WCCIL) and Scotmann SunnyD Pro.

Arranged by the CEO of ScaryAmmi, Ayesha Nasir, the event aims to acknowledge all Ammis, their passions and their effort in pursuing a career after marriage.
It also strives to provide Ammis with an opportunity to take time out for themselves.

ScaryAmmi itself is an online platform created to engage mothers’ community across Pakistan and provide them with guidance and help on issues of motherhood, childcare and everything mother-centric. Besides this, it also provides mothers with solutions on many social and economic issues.

Resonating with her own journey, Ayesha recalled,
“When I hear stories of Ammipreneurs who had careers and jobs, but were not able to continue those due to familial or personal limitations;
hence they began their own businesses. All of these businesses began as little dreams, and the aim of Ammi Fair is to honor and celebrate those dreams.”
,

Sam Daada, the Executive Member and Former President of Women Chamber of Commerce said,
“The efforts of Ammi Popup and Voila PR in organizing an event aimed at promoting women entrepreneurs is commendable! They are encouraging women-led businesses and startups to display their work and promote their businesses which is truly admirable.”

Ammi Fair started 12 years ago. Each year 50+ vendors put up a number of stalls ranging from refreshments, clothing and accessories to various engaging activities catering to all age groups.
These include Conatural, Pinksoul, Myne’s Cakery, and Sugar Babies. The event activities included awareness about women wellness, yoga sessions, face painting, live singing, lucky draw and story-telling.
There were a number of bloggers present at the event as well, including Maryam, Zahra Malik and Nida Saeed . They created content on lifestyle, fashion, beauty and food.

Nilofar Sikander, the Vice President of Women Chamber of Commerce commented:
“Ayesha Nasir has taken an amazing initiative in organizing this event which acknowledges and promotes Ammis and Ammi-led businesses.
Women-led startups are abundant, but they are rarely recognized, and Ayesha Nasir, Ammi Popup and Voila PR have done an amazing job in bringing them recognition.”
